And I guess I found it. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! makes a ludicrously correct 1:8 scale version... which is handmade... and offers selectable options.”Price On Request”, which here apparently means $12,000. SWEET BUTTERY BISCUITS

Jesus, it’s hard to justify that when you can get a 1:1 scale model (some assembly required) for the same price...

That was the first question raised by my coworker (got a guy in the office into model stuff I sent this to). On the other hand, this is the definitive Series model, no question. I kind of wonder why a guy here locally hasn’t gone insane and gotten one - the real thing are his main business line (perfect/better than factory restos at >$30k a pop) and he spends multiple thousands on rare parts sometimes. It would be a hell of a demo to customers to cover what gets worked on and how.

Was going to say the same thing, it’s lovely but not same price as an actual Land Rover lovely, maybe if it ran and was remote control.........

True, although I think the price itself is a limiting factor. It would probably be a better to spend a bit more and have an actual Series II the potential customer could drive around and get a feel of it.

You remember the Bell Aurens “Longnose” where some nut made a roadster out of a 109 five-door? There are pictures of this PSM scale model with it, so that guy at least probably has one.

Oh god that monstrosity, it’s seared into the back of my mind and it doesn’t surprise me that he’d get a model of it.

He got a model of the normal 88, which... surely he could have gotten them to make one of his giant ridiculousness for not that much more than the normal 88. But yes, disposible money + Series much in evidence there.

Not exactly what you’re after, but these 1:43s TSMs are both nice and heavily discounted at DiecastSelect right now, they’re going out of business. It’s been a problem for me. I really want to tow truck. Get them quick, once they’re gone there’s no restock.

True story: I have seen that tow truck in person (the real thing). The guy in whose keeping it was at the time is the local Series guy and has a huge number of diecasts, but I don’t think he has the royal review one. May need to give him a heads up.

Kind of funny, I got my real rover for the same price. It did need another models worth of upgrades and maintenance, but it is way better than having a little tiny car.
